Interesting travel photo album of the German naval officer Tannenberg. The journey on board of the S. M. S. Kaiser in 1897-98 led to India, Sri Lanka, the Philipines, China and Japan. The photographs, some in a large format of 12 : 27, 5 cm, some around 9 : 14 cm, show buildings, towns, landscapes, mainly with locals, especially local women in their traditional costumes, engaged in activities such as making music, playing board games, cooking and painting. Each photograph with ms inscriptions. - Remarkable and well-documented collection of photographs. - The larger pictures partly with slight marginal defects. Binding defective.
Interesting collection of photographies from a journey to East Asia, compiled by a German navy officer 1897-98. 148 orig. photographs (104 col.), depticting buildings, views and the local people, especially the women with their traditional costumes and habits. Contemp. cardboard (damaged). - Larger photos partly with slight marginal damages.
