After studying in New York in 1980, Middendorf settled in Berlin Kreuzberg, where he consistently worked through his impressions of urban life. Using color expressively, he captured the loneliness and anxiety of urban man on canvas. Urban painting has been led to new heights by Middendorf’s expressive handling of his medium. [EH].
