Just as his friend Wilhelm Morger, Arnold Topp is a master of colors. Mostly bound to real forms, Arnold Topp has managed to bestow a completely new meaning on things by means of a magic coloring. In terms of the motif comparable with the "Komposition - für Ostayen" (cf. Greifeld/Enders 19.M.4), made in 1919, our abstract composition also draws its strength from the dialog of form and color. Topp created a sort of cosmic landscape, a universe with hovering planets, but yet with real references. Time seems to have been nullified, objects seem to emerge solely from the color. There is a lot of space for interpretation, and yet, there is a basic atmosphere this work emanates. This composition is characterized by a certain romanticism of space, time and color. [KD].
