The work is registered in the Max-Ackermann-Archive, Bietigheim-Bissingen, under the number ACK 3872 and will be included into the forthcoming catalog raisonné.
Ackermann's artistic development went through many different styles, before it finally reached abstraction in the 1950s. The abstract colors resonance originate from the occupation with phenomena of music-aesthetics, such as rhythm and sound that he transfers to the image. He integrates this experience into color theories from his teacher Adolf Hölzel and creates compositions that build an interplay of dynamic and static, tension and harmony on the basis of color and form.
