With title cartouche in watercolors, cartouche with dedication for baron Dr. Rudolf Parisi in Triest and 12 feather drawings with watercolors in the text. 8 double sheets on laid paper, of which 12 pp. with text. Ca. 23 : 15 cm.
Nice manuscript of the famous fairy tale that Hesse carefully copied and illustrated by hand for friends. ;Made in 1922 for his second wife Ruth Wenger, it was not released in facsimile before 1954. - According to Mileck, Hesse made more than fourty different copies, most by hand. This writing was made for the baron Dr. Rudolf Parisi in Triest (registered in Mileck II, 111, A 3).
