This is a section of the woodcut from 1924. Due to the technique, the printing block is represented in reverse impression. Rohlfs made several profs of this motif, some show the sleepinmg husband only (cf. ex. cat. Christian Rohlfs, Galerie Remmert und Barth, Düsseldorf, 7 May - 31 July, 1993, pp. 78f., cat. no. 63-65).
