PROVENANCE: Galleria dell`Ariete, Milan (with gallery label on paper on rear of frame and with stamp).
While the geometric lines of the construction drawing are clearly visible on verso, based on them Enrico Castellani created this "Disegno Bianco", the front side is solely determined by the white structure. No pencil lines disturb the focus on the form's calm dynamic. Castellani put the importance of reduction for his art as follows: "To me white is no color, it is the absence of color. I try to create my works with as much objectivity as possible simply through the way I treat the surface, the same accounts for the colors, or rather the non-colors, which allow for a maximum perception of this optimization."
