Meaume 542 and 547. Lieure 155 and 160, each I (of II). Excellent and splendid impressions of first state before letters in lower margin, on laid paper with small margin around platemark. 22,4 x 30 cm (8,8 x 11,8 in). Sheet: up to 24 x 32,2 cm (9,4 x 12,7 in).
Sheet 9 and 14 from the series of 16 sheet called "La Vie de Ferdinand I. de Médicis, dites Les Batailles des Médicis". The sheets were made over a period of a couple of years, published until 1619.
Frescoes and drawings by Matteo Rosselli (1578-1651), Bernardino Poccetti (1548-1612) and other Florentine artists served as models for this series. [CB].
