Over the following years he presented the latest tendencies in European and American art).

Heinz Mack, founding member of the ZERO group and a master of formal reduction, has found his very own place in Post War Art with his works that are set in motion by light incidence. Through the artistic integration of light and shade Mack's creations are detached from their material basis and become objects characterized by ever changing ephemeral sensations. Mack's poetic creations do not only delude themselves from any form of concreteness in terms of the choice of pictorial object, they even allow the observer to participate in an almost metaphysical art experience. This early "Lichtschleier" (Veil of Light), shown at the first ZERO exhibition in New York in 1964 and part of the renowned collection of the American art lover and gallery owner Howard Wise (1903-1989), is particularly captivating for its round view and presence. With this subtle and airy work Mack realized a piece of art in the year of his Documenta participation that is characterized by a very special optical intensity and radiant energy.
