Der Naturforscher und Mikroskopbauer Buonanni (1638-1725) war Schüler Athanasius Kirchers und Inspektor des Museum Kircherianum in Rom. "The Micrographia curiosa includes interesting observations on early microscopes, it gives a precise description of the author's own model and the famous microscopes of the Bolognese instrument-maker, Joseph Campani" (Norman). - Tafelanzahl schwankt zwischen 68 (Norman) und 70 (Nissen). - Ohne das Erratabl. - Ausgesondertes Expl. der Entomological Society of London (Tafeln jew. verso mit Stempel).
