PROVENANCE: Private collection South Germany.
Ernst Ludwig Kirchner captured the motif of a girl with a cat in many drawings in those years. Kirchner grasped the the figures with poise and characterized the playful scene. Kirchner worked almost exclusively with outline forms, without any accucary regarding the inner structure, and thus clearly shows the art of omittance. [EH].
