The watercolor, made under the impression of Cubism, is one of André Lhote's most remarkable works, particularly for its briskness. The composition emanates an appealing harmony despite the pictorial elements' decomposition into geometric forms. The graphic duct of this landscape is alleviated through the subtle watercolors which unite the pictorial elements through their pictrorial effect. [KD]
