Our work was made in 1992, the year Förg participated in Documenta IX in Kassel. It is part of the group of Günther Förg's Bleibilder (Lead Pictures), which helped the artist to his breakthrough. Through the combination of the heavy and cold material with the bright color fields Förg created a unique effect that emphasizes the work's dimension in a special way. The reduced usage of paint and the imge's symmetric composition underline Förg's approach to "create a pictorial form that is abstract and yet creates a feeling of an orderly space".
