EINBAND: Blindgeprägter Schweinslederband der Zeit mit Luther-Porträt auf der Mittelplatte. 8vo. 20 : 13,5 cm.- ILLUSTRATION: Mit 110 altkolorierten Textholzschnitten von Virgil Solis.- KOLLATION: 450 (st. 462) num., 5 (st. 6) nn. Bll.- ZUSTAND: Fehlen die ersten 16 Bll. (4 nn., num. Bll. 1-12) und das letzte nn. Bl. - Insges. etw. fleckig und vereinz. mit Randläsuren, wenige Bll. mit Einrissen (1 Bl. mit Buchstabenverlust), 1 Bl. mit Eckabriß. Einbd. fleckig und beschädigt, Buchblock stark verzogen.

Very rare Frankfurt edition of the New Testament with fine woodcuts in strong colors by Virgil Solis in alternating Renaissance frames. Octavo edition of the Virgil-Solis-Bible. Only 1 copy traced in VD 16. With 110 woodcuts in text by Virgil Solis, all in strong contemp. coloring. Contemp. blindtooled pigskin with Luther portrait (damaged, worn). - Lacking first 16 leaves and the last leaf. - Some staining, few leaves with tears (1 leaf with loss of letters), 1 leaf with torn-off corner, book block strongly warped.
