Max Klinger illustrates the finding of a glove that a lady has lost on a skating rink. The protagonist picks it up and takes it home with him, when he falls asleep he has adventurous dreams revolving around his amorousness caused by the glove of his beloved lady. The narration is based on events in the artist’s life. While Klinger studied at the Berlin Academy, he met the young Cuban lady "T." on a skating rink and began a love affair with her. Initially he used this event for a series of feather drawings he exhibited at the ‘Verein Berliner Künstler’ (Association of Berlin Artists) in spring 1878. In 1881 he reverted to this theme for his sixth etching series. The two men in left on the first sheet are Klinger himself and Hermann Prell, a close friend from university.
