"I tried Impressionism and I tried Expressionism before I attained a broad and planar painting, in which I was far more interested than petty narrations. What matters to me is what's on my mind, I want to express it as quick as possible. [..] it's possible that, for instance, a head is not really well done, that's why I did seascapes to unwind. A head may be far more complicated while painting the sea is just relaxing."
