"My friends the apples, which I love so much for their charming red, yellow, purple and green dresses, are - depending on the background or setting - no longer apples to me. Their hues and bright colors in front of more sober tones merge and form a harmony laced with dissonance. [..] To me apples, trees and human faces are just clues for something else: The life of the color seized by passion and love."
