• This is one of Otto Mueller‘s very rare color lithographs.
• Otto Mueller made first lithographs in colors in 1919 after he had been appointed to the Breslau Academy
• The bathers in nature is one of the main motif of the "Brücke" artists Otto Mueller, Erich Heckel, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Hermann Max Pechstein and Karl Schmidt-Rottluff.

"Mueller observed bathing scenes like this during his visits on the islands of Föhr and Sylt as well as on the Flensburg Firth [..] Mueller's sheets [..] are not short of quality in comparison with earlier works by fellow artists, however, they differ in terms of a more aggressive erotic appeal."
