• Georg Karl Pfahler is one of the first representatives of Hard Edge Painting in Europe
• Pfahler, along with Thomas Lenk, Heinz Mack and Günter Uecker, showed works at the German pavilion at the 1970 Venice Biennial
• In 1999 he designed an assembly hall of the German parliament in the Reichstag, Berlin.
