• Adolf Hölzel held a post as professor for painting at the Stuttgart Academy between 1906 and 1918.
• In later years the generation of Bauhaus artists like Johannes Itten (1888-1967) and Oskar Schlemmer (1888-1943) examined Hölzel's writings.
