Ramié 1. With scratched number on stand and inscription "I 108", with embossing stamps "Edition Picasso" and "Madoura Plein Feu". From an edition of 200 copies. 32 x 39 cm (12.5 x 15.3 in).

• One of Picasso's earliest ceramics, made in Vallauris in the south of France.
• Picasso was so enthusiastic about the city and the technical possibilities ceramics offered him that he decided to settle there, which marked the beginning of an extremely productive phase.
• Picasso's ceramics are unique in their form and imagery, they are considered a separate group of works in the oeuvre of the most ingenious artist of the 20th century.

Private collection (acquired from the above in 1977).
