• Winter landscapes are very rare in Slevogt's oeuvre.
• Winterly forest near Neukastell, where the artist lived on the farmstead 'Slevogthof'.
• Wonderful energetic brushstroke with which Slevogt put the trees' branches and their shade onto the winterly forest.
This work's authenticity has kindly been confirmed orally by Bernhard Geil, to whom we are very grateful for his kind expert advice.
