Lower left signed. Lower right inscribed and dated "Glacier des Bois Chamonix Sept. 1. 1869". Verso of the backing board with teh label of Galerie Heinemann, Munich, a stamp of the frame maker G. Wieser, Munich; inscribed with the artist's name and teh title and dated "72". On firm wove paper, laminated on board. 24 x 33 cm (9.4 x 12.9 in).
PROVENANCE: From teh artist's estate.
Galerie Heinemann, Munich (with the label on verso of the backing board, there numbered "15225").
Collection director E. Krause, Munich (which presumably is the brewery director Emil Krause, acquired from the above in 1921).
Private collection Bavaria (inherited).
