Underside with the artist's name and the foundry mark "Bronze Art Stransky“. From an edition of eight copies (and two "e.a." copies). 9.7 x 39.5 x 6.5 cm (3.8 x 15.5 x 2.5 in).
Posthumous cast made by the bronze foundry Stransky, Nörvenich, in 1995. [AM].
• Through a striking reduction of the form, the artist created a subtly balanced bronze.
• In 1949, the artist made the wooden sculpture "Liegende“, on which this work is based, when she was living in England.
• Marg Moll is the only German female sculpting student of Henri Matisse in Paris.
• The comprehensive exhibition "Gemischtes Doppel. Die Molls und die Purrmanns – Zwei Künstlerpaare der Moderne“ featuring works by the artist, will be shown at the Museum Wiesbaden in autumn 2023 (10/13/2023–2/18/2024)
