Fleischmann's abstract works have two components. On the one hand, there is the clear color structure of a surface and, on the other, an indifferent, almost mystical statement in the loose interplay of the dissolved color forms. One could almost speak of constructive divisionism if one wanted to see Fleischmann's work only in purely visual terms. But there was and is more. Fleischmann is a romantic among the artists of constructive abstraction. What others express in gestural sweep, the artist achieves solely through the subtle use of color. Despite all the apparent construction, a meditative element predominates. It gives the composition the opportunity to penetrate deeper into the viewer's consciousness beyond all formal aspects.
