On the right side of the plinth with the monogram, date, and the number “E.A. IV/VI”. Artist copy IV/VI. Height without base: 107 cm (42.1 x 31,4 x 31,4 in). Base: 70.5 x 80 x 80 cm (27,7 x 31,4 x 31,4 in).
Cast by Kayser, Düsseldorf (with the foundry mark on the plinth). [EH].
• Radical reinterpretation of the goddess of fortune as a fragile figure in the changing course of history.
• Transience, power, and humanity—Immendorff turns “Die Frau auf der Kugel” (The Woman on the Globe) into an existential commentary.
• The artist expands his political discourse to include sculpture.
