Nahezu vollständiger Tafelteil mit 439 kolorierten Kupfertafeln des wohl seltensten Werkes von Esper.
Erste Ausgabe. Vollständige Exemplare mit 445 Tafeln gelangen kaum in den Handel, da das Werk in den Jahren 1788-1830 in 27 Einzellieferungen erschien. Espers umfassendes Werk über die Coelenteraten, auch Hohl- oder Schlauchtiere, basiert auf seiner großen Sammlung von Korallen und Seeschwämmen. - Ohne den Text. - Die Tafeln auf kräftigem Papier und in schönem Altkolorit.
EINBAND: Lederbände der Zeit mit farb. Rückenschildern mit Rückentitel. 26,5 : 22 cm. - ILLUSTRATION: Mit 439 (statt 445) meist kolorierten Kupfertafeln. - ZUSTAND: Gering fleckig, 2 Tafeln im Rand gebräunt. Einbände mit Gebrauchsspuren, Gelenke tlw. beschädigt, innen inges. gutes und sauberes Exemplar. - PROVENIENZ: Norddeutsche Privatsammlung.

Contemp. calf with label with title on spine. - Slightly stained, 2 plates browned in margins. Bindings with traces of use, 2 hinges broken, in else celan copy.
