• One of Karl Hagemeister's rare figure portraits.
• This atmospheric depiction, with its evocative harmony between nature and figure, is reminiscent of midsummer days.
• Hagemeister was one of the most important landscape painters in Germany at the turn of the century.
• In 1898, he was a founding member of the Berlin Secession, alongside Max Liebermann and others.
