• From the sought-after period of his intensive creative years in Berlin.
• Kirchner also made a painting with the same motif (Gordon 213).
• 1914 – a decisive turning point in Kirchner's life and work: it is the last year before his deployment in the war and, at the same time, the peak of his creative energy.
• Nude depictions are a central theme in Kirchner's work.
• Fascinating tension between the privacy of the naked bodies and their apparent presentation at the window.
• Part of an acclaimed private collection in Berlin for over 30 years
.

We are grateful to Prof. Dr. Günther Gercken for his kind expert advice.
