• Roubaud is one of the most important painters to emerge from the cultural exchange between Russia and Europe at the end of the 19th century.
• A significant patron of his work was Russian Tsar Alexander III.
• His equestrian figures fascinate viewers with their folkloric, ethnographic-documentary character.
• The year 1914 marked the peak of his reputation as a painter with the presentation of 34 works at the Munich Glaspalast.
