• With a stunning palette, E. L. Kirchner captured the fleeting moment of the glowing mountain world.
• Outstanding provenance: “Hütte auf der Stafel” passed into the artist's estate and has been in the possession of the Kirchner family for three generations.
• He created the most important works of his “new” life on the Stafelalp.
• A “double Kirchner”: the reverse side features “Hütte im Wald” (Cabin in the Forest), an equally elaborate watercolor with an expressive brushstroke in black charcoal.
• For the past 13 years, the work has been on permanent loan to the Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz..
PROVENANCE: Estate of the artist.
In family ownership since then.
EXHIBITION: Chemnitz Art Collections, permanent loan (since 2012).
