Dated "12 juin XXXVI" in the plate. One of 250 copies. On firm Montval laid paper (with the watermark "Vollard", barely visible). 31.7 x 41.7 cm (12.4 x 16.4 in). Sheet: 34 x 45 cm (13,3 x 17,7 in).
Sheet 27 fom the "Suite Vollard". Printed by Roger Lacourière, Paris, published by Ambroise Vollard, Paris. [AR].
• From the “”Suite Vollard,” the heart of Picasso’s printmaking oeuvre.
• Largest copperplate in the famous series of 100 prints.
• According to Baer, influenced by Rembrandt’s etching “Jupiter and Antiope” from 1631 and 1659.
• This print is considered one of the most important in the entire series.
