• A rarity: prints from the woodblock “Fischer beim Aalstechen II” have never been offered on the auction market (source: artprice.com).
• The only known print from this woodblock is in the Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz.
• The majority of the woodblocks were handed over to the Brücke Museum in Berlin shortly before the artist's death. Woodblocks of exceptional quality are rarely available on the international auction market.
PROVENANCE: Artist's studio.
Dr. Victor and Hedda Peters Collection, Leipzig (obtained directly from the artist).
Private collection, North Rhine-Westphalia (obtained from the above in 1989).
