• Created in Tokyo, Japan, the art and lifestyle of which play an essential role in the artist's oeuvre
• Concentrated colors in beam-like constructions typical of his art of the early 1970s
• In private ownership since 1973 and offered on the auction market for the first time.
The work is registered with the Sam Francis Foundation, Glendale, California, under the number “SF70-139;SF71-039” and is listed in the online catalogue raisonné.

Private collecton, southern Germany (acquired from the above in 1973, family-owned ever since).
