Herbstlandschaft (Überschwemmung). 1926.
Lithograph in colors.
Signed. Inscribed “In dieser Faßung ein Druck” and titled “Herbstlandschaft, Überschwemmung” by Ada Nolde. One-of-a-kind in this color scheme. 59 x 79 cm (23.2 x 31.1 in). Sheet: 65,5 x 85 cm (25,7 x 33,4 in).
The stone is dyed black. The clouds in the upper area are in an intense pink, which is reflected in the light gray water surface. A delicate pink-orange color is also visible in the light gray stone. The brushstrokes used to apply the paint lend the image a beautiful, invigorating effect—a special example of how the artist explored different color variations.

• Unique copy in this color scheme.
• The last time a copy of this motif was offered on the international auction market was in 1986.
• Magnificent proof of Emil Nolde's love of experimentation in lithography.
