• Schrimpf's figure paintings from the 1920s are among the most important works in his oeuvre.

• The window sections refer to Romantic, Biedermeier, and Renaissance portrait traditions, in which the connection between figure and landscape emphasizes the tension between the individual and the environment.
Georg Schrimpf is one of the most important representatives of New Objectivity.
