Zweite Rom-Ausgabe, erstmals mit dem Porträt des Kardinals Albano.
Die anatomischen Tafeln des Bartolommeo Eustachi wurden 1552 vollendet, blieben aber vergessen und unveröffentlicht in der Vaticana liegen, bis Papst Clemens XI. sie seinem Leibarzt Lancisi zur Publikation übergab, der sie erstmals 1714 veröffentlichte. Die Tafeln zeigen u. a. den Brustkorb, das Nervensystem, verschiedene Organe und Gefäßstrukturen.
EINBAND: Interims-Pappband d. Zt. 40,5 : 27 cm. - ILLUSTRATION: Mit gestochener Titelvignette, gestochenem Widmungs-Porträt und 47 Kupfertafeln. - KOLLATION: 28 röm. num. 79 S., 5 nn. Bll. - ZUSTAND: Etw. fingerfl., Einbd. berieben und leicht fleckig. Insgsamt schönes sauberes unbeschnittenes Exemplar. - PROVENIENZ: Mit gestochenem Exlibris von Friedrich August von Braunschweig-(Wolfenbüttel)-Oels (1740-1804).

Second Rome edition. The engravings of Eustachi's drawings were completed by 1552 but remained unpublished until their rediscovery in the Vatican Library in the early 18th century, when they were presented by Pope Clement XI to his physician, Giovanni Maria Lancisi, who first published them in 1714. With engr. title vignette, engr. dedication leaf with portrait and 47 engr. anatomical plates after Eustachi. Contemp. interims cardboards. 40.5 : 27 cm. - Minim. fingerstained, cover rubbed and slightly stained. Overall, a nice, clean, untrimmed copy. With engraved bookplate by Friedrich August von Braunschweig-(Wolfenbüttel)-Oels (1740-1804).(R)
