Eine der in den ersten Jahren des Schweizer Exils verfaßten, sogenannten Zürcher Kunstschriften. In dieser Phase intensiver schriftstellerischer Arbeit 1849-1851 entstanden Wagners theoretische Haupttexte, darunter Die Kunst und die Revolution , Oper und Drama und Das Judenthum in der Musik . In dem Aufsatz Kunst und Klima , der erstmals im Mai 1850 in der Deutschen Monatsschrift für Politik, Wissenschaft, Kunst und Leben gedruckt wurde, argumentiert Wagner gegen den geographischen Determinismus (Nord versus Süd) in der Kunst.

Autograph manuscript, signed, containing the last paragraphs of "Kunst und Klima", one of Wagners essays written during the first years 1849-1851 of his Swiss exile, and first published in May 1850. 2 pp. 15,5 : 19,5 cm. - Tanned, smoothed.
