Hollandia comitatus. Grenzkolorierter Kupferstich von J. van den Ende bei W. J. Blaeu, Amsterdam 1635-1638. 39,5 : 47,5 cm.
Prachtvolle, altkolorierte Karte der Niederlande mit Wappenleiste.
Sehr seltenes Exemplar der früheren Fassung mit der Wappenleiste im unteren Bildrand, die 32 kl. Stadtwappen zeigt; dazu enthält die Karte eine Titelschmuckkartusche rechts oben, eine Wappenkartusche und zahlr. kleine Segelschiffe vor der Nordseeküste. - In dieser Form erschien die Karte nur in drei von Blaeus Atlanten: im Appendix Theatri , in der lat. Ausgabe des Atlas von 1631 und wie hier vorlieg. in der französ. Ausgabe von 1635-38. Ab 1638 wurde sie durch eine leicht geänderte Fassung z. B. ohne die Wappenleiste und dafür mit kleiner Nebenkarte ersetzt.
- ZUSTAND: Etw. gebräunt, vereinz. fleckig und stellenw. mit leichtem Abklatsch des Altkolorits auf die gegenüberlieg. Blatthälfte. Mittelfalte im Bereich der w. Ränder mit rest. Einrissen und 1 minim. hinterl. Fehlstelle. - Unter Passepartout in dekorativem Silberrahmen.

Blaeu. - Somewhat browned, isolated staining and minimal offsetting of old coloring on opposite half of page. Centerfold in places of white margin with restored splits and 1 minimal rebacked defective spot. - Decoratively matted and framed.
