Signed and dated in the lower right. 44.8 x 34.5 cm (17.6 x 13.5 in).
• One of Willi Baumeister’s first purely abstract compositions from his small, early series of works titled “Forms” (1936–1938).
• The floating biomorphic structures show clear parallels to contemporary works by Hans Arp and Alexander Calder.
• Baumeister’s “Form” paintings from 1936 to 1938 are among the key abstract works of the 1930s.
Accompanied by a written confirmation issued by Felicitas Baumeister on November 6, 1987 (in copy).
