Signed and dated in the upper left. 90 x 105 cm (35.4 x 41.3 in).

• The portrait subject was a pianist and musical scholar from Dresden and a friend of Conrad Felixmüller.
• Felixmüller portrays his friend using bold colors and striking forms.
• With his unique style, Felixmüller became the most important portraitist of his time.
PROVENANCE: Private collection, Berlin (since 1984, Galerie Brockstedt, Hamburg).
EXHIBITION: Conrad Felixmüller. Gemälde - Aquarelle - Zeichnungen, Galerie Brockstedt, 1984, cat.no. 11 (with a label on the reverse of the stretcher).
