• A melancholic riverside landscape executed with consummate mastery of the pastel technique.
• From his late Impressionist period, characterized by atmospheric color accents.
• Karl Hagemeister is one of the most significant landscape painters from the turn of the century in Germany.
• A major retrospective was recently shown at the Potsdam Museum.
The authenticity of this work has been confirmed in writing (via email) by Ms. Hendrikje Warmt of Berlin. The work is registered in the Karl Hagemeister Archive.
