• Striking and expressive lines that form the framework of the shapes, in typical Schmidt-Rottluff style.
• Schmidt-Rottluff as a master of simple yet expressive design, striking a balance between artistic simplification and a distinctive depiction of nature.
• A return to his famous motif of dune landscapes, which he created in the 1930s on Lake Leba.
The work is documented in the archive of the Karl and Emy Schmidt-Rottluff Foundation, Berlin.

Private collection, southern Germany (acquired from the aforementioned in 1983).
In good condition. The sheet shows slight munts staining. There is a slight handling mark in the lower right corner and a tiny tear in the upper right corner of the sheet.
