Neuausgabe des großen, in unterschiedlicher Zusammenstellung und auch mit den Titeln Neuer sächsischer Atlas und Atlas saxonicus novus herausgegebener Regionalatlas, dessen Material auf den handgezeichneten Ämterkarten von A. F. Zürner basieren. "The great activity in map publishing, displayed by Petrus Schenk, the elder, was continued by his son and grandson" (Koeman III, 110). - Gemäß Koeman, Sche 17 (48 Karten auf 56 Bll., nach dem Exemplar der Royal Library Den Haag) nahezu vollständiges Exemplar mit zusätzlichen Karten: neben dem Titel, dem Tafelverzeichnis und 2 Bll. Text fehlt zu Beginn die Karte von Sachsen (1), ferner die Karte der Graffschaft Mansfeld (35), dafür ist je eine Karte von Mansfeld von Homann Erben und von Matth. Seutter eingefügt, sowie eine Variante der Karte der Reichs Graflichen Schönburgischen Herrschaffeten und Aemmter (20; dat. 1760).
EINBAND: Flexibler Lederband der Zeit mit Blindprägung, Vorderdeckel mit goldgepr. Mittelstück mit Titel Atlas von Sachsen . 53 : 34 cm. - ILLUSTRATION: Mit 48 doppelblattgr. kolor. Kupferkarten auf 56 Bll. sowie 1 kolor. doppelblattgr. gestochenem Meilenzeiger. - ZUSTAND: Fehlt der Kupfertitel. Ca. 10 Karten unten mit kl. Randeinriß oder Einriß der Mittelfalte (1 etw. längerer Einriß), ca. 5 Karten mit kleinen Randläsuren, der Meilenzeiger gebräunt, mit Randläsuren und ergänztem Eckabriß unten links, die Mansfeld-Karte von Homann Erben stellenw. im Rand recto und verso verstärkt, ca. 5 Karten im Rand knapp beschnitten, die Karte Keyser Carlsbades im oberen Rand bis in die Platte / Illustration. Einbd. beschabt, Rücken an beiden Ende mit Fehlstellen. - PROVENIENZ: Privatsammlung Sachsen.

Contemp. flexible calf with gilt centre piece with title "Atlas von Sachsen" on front board. - Lacking the title page, the map of Saxony and of Mansfeld, as well as 1 leaf index and 2 ll. text (according to Koeman); substituted with 2 maps of Mansfeld by Homann Heirs and by Seutter, and by a variant of the map "Reichs Graflichen Schönburgischen Herrschaffeten und Aemmter" by P. Schenk (dated 1760). - Lacking the engr. title. Ca. 10 maps with small marginal tear or split to centrefold (1 longer tear), ca. 5 maps with small marginal defects, the plate with the scalebar tanned and with marginal defects (1 defect to lower left corner rebacked), the map of Mansfeld by Homann Heirs in places reinforced along margin, ca. 5 maps cropped close, the map Keyser Carlsbades trimmed in upper margin slightly into the illustration. Binding scraped, head and tail of spine with loss of matter. - Private collection Saxony.
