Bartsch 121. DeGrazia Bohlin 153 III (of III). Monogrammed in the plate. Excellent impressions on laid paper (with watermarks "Wappen von Amsterdam" and "LVG", perhaps Lubbertus van Gerrevink?). Trimmed to bordering line. 23,7 x 34,3 cm (9,3 x 13,5 in), the full sheet.
The sheet, made after drafts by Andrea Boscoli and Bernardo Buontalenti, is stage design for one of the numerous musical interludes on occasion of the wedding of Ferdinando I. de’ Medici and Christine von Lothringen in 1589. Today all plays are regarded milestones of theatre art and stage technique. [CB].
