Inscribed "Skizze Redslob" by a hand other than that of the artist. Signed (with artist's address) on verso. On firm smooth wove paper, formerly folded as letter. 51 x 32,2 cm (20 x 12,6 in), size of sheet.
Edwin Redslob (1884-1973) was art supervisor of the interior ministry between 1920 and 1933. During World War II he was active as writer in Berlin, in 1945 he co-founded the newspaper 'Tagesspiegel' and taught art history at the Freie Universität Berlin. Kichner's "Porträt Dr. Redslob" (Gordon 789) ia a loan to the Berliner Brücke-Museum.
