This work was immediately made after the "Bandzeichenbilder", a homogenuous work group from the first half of the 1950s. The watercolor's reduced style and the thickly applied colors clearly reference the calligraphic line meshworks from the precedung work period. Fritz Winter plays with contrasts by combining light and dark elements, open and closed figurations and creates an exciting and dynamic work. [KP].
