The limited edition of this woodcut was made from the artist's original wooden block (Möller 58) in 2013 at the art printshop "Clemens Büntig Editionen" and was published by "Ernst Rathenau Kunsthandel und Verlag". Karl Schmidt-Rottluff cut the two cats into the wood with great artistic commitment. With great facileness he adds various moments of expression: the bodies that dominate the surface emanate natural sublimeness, the left cat's tilted head suggests playfulness, the alert eyes of the large cat shows animal spirit. With great mastery he cuts the body into the surface, surrounded and illuminated by the surrounding space. Limited anniversary edition for the benefit of the Brücke Museum Berlin. This cat motif is rare in Schmidt-Rottluff's graphic oeuvre .
