The limited edition of this woodcut was printed from the artist's original woodblock (Möller 11) by the art print shop "Clemens Büntig Editionen" in 2013. Published by "Ernst Rathenau Kunsthandel und Verlag". With the motif of the lovers, Karl Schmidt-Rottluff depicted togetherness and erotic tension between a man and a woman with great intensity. He transfers feelings onto the wooden block with great expressiveness. As he was largely occupied with formal problems at this time, developing an increasingly reduced and geometric style, he executed the "Liebenden" in limewood, which the artist can process in all directions. Limited jubilee edition of five rare motifs by the artist. This is a particularly sentimental motif, which has not been offered on the international auction market. (Source: www.artnet.de).
