The light discs doubtlessly count among Uecker's most beautiful and most convincing works, which he made as of the early 1960s. This work is part of the series. "The artist reveals the opportunities of the new conception in a clear manner. Nails are no longer found in a strictly concentric arrangement, but have been placed freely and spontaneously. They create flowing motion on the surface and yet maintain the highly individual character of unregulated structural elements." (quote after Dieter Honisch, Uecker, Stuttgart, p. 62).
